Gift cards
Sell gift cards from your booking page, or issue them yourself. Each card has a code and a balance that its holder uses to pay the deposit for a booking.
When you would use it
Use them before holidays and special occasions, or as a thank-you or a goodwill gesture after something went wrong.
How to set it up
- To sell gift cards online, Stripe must show Ready under Billing. Your booking page then offers gift cards for sale.
- To issue a card yourself, open Gift cards and select Issue gift card.
- Enter the Amount, the Recipient name and the Recipient email. You can add a Gift message (optional) and an expiry date under Expires (optional).
- The amount cannot be changed once the card is issued. To cancel a card, use Void.
- Open a card to see its Redemptions.
What your customers see
Buyers choose an amount on your gift card page and pay by card. The card is emailed to the recipient, or to the buyer if no recipient email is given. To use it, the holder enters the code when paying the deposit for a booking. The balance must cover the whole deposit, and the card works only with your business. If the booking is cancelled, the amount goes back on the card. Because a gift card pays a deposit, it can only be used for bookings that ask for one.
